Her Daydream collection for Hygge & West of birds in the clouds is so fun + fresh. We are pretty sure it will be going in one of the next spaces we design. The colour options are phenomenal!
Perfect for a little ones nursery/bedroom.
A very welcoming presence for a foyer.

Our 10 yr old client Aiden didn’t think twice when he told me the design direction for his bedroom, the game Tetris. We sat together and in about 20min had the 4 paint colours chosen and a rough sketch of how we would execute the Tetris painted wall. So much fun!

Our designer friend Marisa Howard of Marisa Howard Design, is the queen of DIY projects and a lover of cottage style.
Using an old oak three panel door, she designed/built a beautiful custom headboard. With some moulding and white paint, it gives you the feeling of a relaxed day at the cottage.
Use a panelled door that fits the width of your bed. Trim sides if needed. Add a piece of wood at the top to hold the molding. Attach filler boards to each side to make even. Add two pieces of wood for legs and secure with brackets. It helps to drill a pilot hole to countersink the screws. Use wood glue before screwing the wood together for extra stability. Cut the moldings at a 45 degree angle and attach with finishing nails. Add a cap piece to finish off the top. Use wood filler to cover any screws or nail holes and caulk any gaps, then sand, prime and paint.

We love the casual atmosphere of this beachside hotel bistro Pure C. With it’s clean modern interior in white, there is a beachy feel with an airyness and lots of light.
There is a cocoon like feel with it’s modular booths and it is accentuated by the elegant white curtains around the perimeter. In the evening the skylights have a golden shine from the gold-covered with circular discs of light fixtures.
The furniture is all white with shiny brown tones of wood and vintage cognac-colored leather seat covers.
The whole interior is tailored to the sweeping views from the impressive scenery around the North Sea with the dunes.
The smoked glass walls define spaces away without losing contact. Other atmosphere are the gas fireplace with floating glass, the dark slate of the pilasters, vase objects (Atelier Vierkant) and lounge furniture from Piet Boon and Max Alto.
Designed by Lieven Musschoot and is located in Cadzand-Bad, The Netherlands.

Last week I had the pleasure of teaming up with designer Darlene Paradis (pictured left), the mastermind behind At Home Interior Design.
To create a series of stripes using 4 paint colours, running across 2 walls in a 4 yr old boys bedroom.
Darlene’s colour palette ties together so many of the elements in this space, such a great way to layer in pattern. The base coat is painted in a simple neutral, Benjamin Moore’s HC-81 Manchester Tan.

Baby Thomas is a newborn, who’s small bedroom space is a hammy down from his older sister.
Spaces Design chose the paint colours for this room a few years ago, for Thomas’ big sister.
We are going to help Mommy and Daddy make this transition easier and use the existing bands of colour, changing them to a little boy palette. To create some functional design elements in the space, we created a style board full of suggestions from rugs to night lights.
This little shoe from Snuggle Bugz was our jumping off point for the colour sheme. Such an easy colour combination for a boys room.
